We all like cakes which look like food right? I’ve covered junk food a bit but this time I’m feeling fruity and in need of something less junky! Enter The Cinnamon and Apple Cakes, which look like apples! Maybe take one with you when you’re supposed to be eating fruit, not cake. We’ve all been there, right?
Recipe –
For the sponge…
190g self raising flour
190g unsalted butter, soft
190g caster sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp heaped, bicarbonate of soda
3 lg free-range eggs
2.25 tbsp whole milk
A small amount of apple sauce, maybe 30g
A small amount of buttercream, your choice!
Sugarpaste coloured a pale green colour, and a little in a darker green and dark brown.
Red colour dust
