Drunken Spaghetti | The Tastemakers-Frankie Celenza

Make sure to call your spaghetti an Uber becuase wine isn’t just a good complement to pasta, but a great way to add flavor.

Ingredients

½ lb spaghetti
Salt, to taste
Extra virgin olive oil
5 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
Red pepper flakes
1 cup red wine
Basil, to garnish

Steps

1.) Add spaghetti to salted, boiling water. Set timer for 1 minute shy of the lowest time displayed on the box.
2.) In the sauté pan, gently sauté garlic and crushed red pepper flakes in extra virgin olive oil.
3.) When the spaghetti is done (1 minute shy) add to the skillet along with ¾ cup of red wine. Cook on high heat while stirring.
4.) Serve immediately, topped with basil, and drink that remaining ¼ cup of wine.
