When you approach dieting with a Gluten-Free state of mind, you’re essentially eating foods that don’t contain any gluten: this protein composite is found in wheat, barley, and rye. Basically wheat and other related grains. This is mostly for people who suffer from a gluten allergy.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. How can I eat breakfast on a Gluten-Free diet?

To eat a Gluten-Free breakfast probably worries you. You’re not entirely sure what to eat: which foods might contain wheat and other grains, and which foods do. And it means you’re going to have miss out on bread and some cereals you might enjoy. So no toast and possibly no oatmeal, which is very healthy. Here are some healthy breakfast ideas for those of you who eat a Gluten-Free diet without depriving yourself of nutritional food.

Yogurt is a Great, Healthy Breakfast option
Yogurt is a very versatile food. You can have it any time of the day and it’s especially a favorite breakfast option. Use a dairy or non-dairy yogurt to accommodate your gluten-free breakfast. Top it with fresh fruit, roasted nuts, or a favorite, homemade granola.

Eggs
Eggs provide a lot of protein and is a meal in itself. Eat them boiled, fried or even make some omelettes with fresh vegetables.

Gluten-Free Oatmeal
Surprisingly, there are many different types of oatmeal that are gluten-free. And there’s most likely a flavor you’ll love! Always check the box and make sure it’s gluten-free, of course.

Polenta
Polenta is a type of hot cereal (technically a fluffy, Italian cornmeal). This is actually a lot lighter than oats. Give it a try, and top the cereal with toasted nuts and fresh fruits. Or you could make Polenta more dinner oriented and pair it with mushrooms, spinach, and eggs.

Breakfast Tortilla
Rather than folding an omelet like you traditionally would, serve an open-faced omelet, using potatoes inside the egg mixture rather than on the side.

Quinoa
Quinoa is incredibly rich in protein and full of flavor. This grain has become quite popular among many, as it’s diverse in many different recipes. And to top it off, it’s a Gluten-Free grain. Cook quinoa to make a hearty, tasty, and hot cereal and top it with maple syrup and fresh fruits.

Avocados
Not only are Avocados rich in good fats, but it’s also a tasty gluten-free alternative! Eat them right out of their skin or eat them with baked eggs! Use a half of your Avocado, placing an uncooked egg inside where the core seed was (you might need to scoop out a little more of the Avocado meat so the egg can fit). Bake them in an oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes.

Ham and Cheese Strata
With the use of Gluten-Free muffins, this filling, hearty egg dish is great for those who love eggs and cheese. It’s a breakfast casserole that everyone in the house can get in to, even for those who aren’t eating a Gluten-Free diet.
