Pori Uppuma
INGREDIENTS
Puffed Rice (Arisi Pori) – 2 Cups
Peeled Garlic – 7 Flakes
Finely Cut onions – 100 gms
Salt – To Taste
Red Chilli Powder – 1/4 Tsp
Dhal Powder (Paruppu Podi) – 1 1/2 Tblsp
Oil – For Frying
Mustard Seeds – 1/4 Tsp
Black Gram Dhal – 1 Tsp
Curry Leaves – 1 Spring

METHOD
1. Rinse puffed rice in water which is kept in a large bowl.
2. Squeeze and take out.
3. Heat oil in a ‘Kadai’. Add seasonings, garlic and then onions.
4. Fry till transparent. Add squeezed puffed rice, salt, chilli powder and dhal powder (which is used along with cooked rice to eat – Andhra Style Podi)
5. Fry well for few minutes. Serve
