Today I made a vibrant Rainbow Layer Cake and themed it My Little Pony! You can make this a MLP Cake, or just a straight rainbow cake depending on the occasion.

Tools & Equipment:
6" cake tin (or larger if you want a larger cake)
Greaseproof / baking paper
MLP Figurines (i used Rarity & Rainbow Dash)
10" cake board
Piping bag
Open, round piping tip (I used a loyal #15 pastry tip)
Sticky tape
2 x bamboo skewers
Spoons
Offset spatula
Large serrated knife (like a bread knife)
Pastry brush
Printed rainbow template (link below)
Ingredients:
A double batch of vanilla or white cake mix (I used packet mix or you can use your favourite recipe)
Round candy – I used Jaffas but also recommend Maltesers or Whoppers
White fondant
Cornflour or powdered sugar
Buttercream frosting (recipe link below)
Food colouring – I used red, yellow, green, orange, blue and purple
Suagr syrup (optional) made from 2 tbsp apricot (or any flavour) jam or jelly and 3 tbsp water heated in the microwave till warm
