You asked to see them so here they are! We have new babies now!!
Here are a few answers to questions I’ve received about the chickens.
Do you eat them? No, they are strictly for pets and organic eggs. They also eat lots of bugs which is just fine by me because I HATE bugs.
How many eggs do they lay? About 1 a day. They have spells where they lay daily and then take a a few breaks.
Are they free -ranged? Yes, they roam freely during the day and we cage them at night because we have coyotes, raccoons, hawks and lots of other chicken-loving animals around here. We’ve lost a lot of chickens from predators but I can’t blame them, chicken is delish!!
Do they stink? They stay outside all the time with 10+ acres to roam in so we don’t smell them. If you keep them close to the house and caged all day then yes, they will smell bad because they poop a lot.
Are they easy to care for? Yep.
