Tortilla Pizza In The Oven | Simple Cast Iron Gluten Free Pan Pizza

I love pizza but making pizza dough at home takes a lot of time, and I usually don’t have flour at home as I am on low carb/gluten free diet.

I was amazed when I found out you can just substitute pizza dough with corn tortilla to make delicious, healthy gluten free pizza that is also low carb as the dough has only 33g of carbs.

There are few ways how to make tortilla pizza, but the one that is presented in the video worked best for me. Here are the ways how to make tortilla pizza in the oven:
1) Bake tortilla pizza in cast iron pan at 300°C/570°F for 5-7 minutes (worked best for me)
2) Bake tortilla pizza on parchment paper at 300°C/570°F for 5-7 minutes (I have burned edges slightly)
3) Bake tortilla pizza in cast iron pan at 200°C/390°F for 10-15 minutes (I missed crispy cheese)
4) Bake tortilla pizza in cast iron pan at 200°C/390°F for 10-15 minutes (edges were not burned, but I also missed crispy cheese)

For toppings, you can use anything you want, but I found out that tortilla pizza is best if you will use only one layer between the cheese and the tomato paste. That’s because I love crispy cheese on top and crust may burn when you bake tortilla on high temperature.

If you want to make tortilla pizza more fit and lower in calories, try to use more veggies, some low-fat ham, and low-fat cheese.

As I said I was amazed by that simple idea of using the tortilla instead of pizza dough and I bet you will also love it!
