Chocolate Orange Cupcake Recipe | Acorn Bakes



Hey guys! Back with a new recipe for chocolate orange cupcakes. These cupcakes are perfect for the autumn and winter time, plus they look fabulous and are easy to make. In the video I also show you how to make your own dehydrated fruit too.

This recipe makes 12 cupcakes, I hope you give these a go!

Ingredients for the chocolate orange cupcake:
200g of caster sugar
150g of plain flour
25g of cocoa
1 + ½ teaspoons of baking powder
Pinch of salt
200ml of warm milk (whole or semi skimmed)
1 egg
50g of melted butter
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (or any flavourless oil)
Zest of one large or two regular sized oranges
(bake at 160C)

Ingredients for the chocolate orange buttercream:
250g of butter
500g of icing sugar
50g of cocoa
Zest and juice of one orange

Ingredients for the sugar syrup for dehydrating:
250ml of water
200g of sugar
50g of glucose syrup
your fruit of choice (e.g oranges, lemons, apples, pears, kiwi)
