Poison Apple Cider
2 quarts apple cider
1/2 cup light brown sugar
5 cinnamon sticks
1 teaspoon ground allspice
ΒΌ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
3 oranges
6 whole cloves
3 large marshmallows
1 cup dark rum (optional)

1.In a medium pot combine apple cider, light brown sugar, 2 cinnamon sticks, allspice, and nutmeg. Add the juice and skin of 1 orange into the apple cider mixture. Cook over medium-low heat and let simmer for 10 minutes.
2.Remove the rind from the remaining oranges in large pieces. Lay the large orange rinds on a flat surface and press a bat shaped cookie cutter through the orange peel. Use the tip of a knife to make two slits on the head of each bat. Insert a whole clove into each slit. If desired, use a small kitchen blow torch to burn the outside edges of the bat.
3.Top remaining 3 cinnamon sticks with a large marshmallow each and char marshmallows on all sides with the blow torch. Adhere the bat shaped orange peel to the warm sticky marshmallow and place in mugs for garnish.
4.Remove the apple cider mixture from the heat and add the rum. Ladle into mugs. Serve immediately.
