After an overwhelmingly positive response to Abbey’s “What I Eat in a Day” video she decided to share her morning routine in this episode. She partnered up with Vichy and Zespri to bring you a whole new outlook on your morning.

At 5:30AM Abbey reluctantly emerges from bed, mentioning that as the seasons change it gets darker later on in the morning making it much more difficult to find the motivation to get out of bed. Regardless, she moves forward with her morning routine. Abbey is really serious about having nice skin. As a result she likes to wash her face before she goes out for a major sweat session at the gym. She was really excited to partner with Vichy on this video because they have several great products aimed specifically at keeping your skin looking clean, clear, and vibrant.

She starts by giving her face a good wash with the Vichy Normaderm deep cleansing gel and follows that up with the purifying pore tightening lotion, ensuring she’s starting the day off with a clean slate. Abbey is actually an extremely organized person so she also takes the time to set her clothes out for the next day before she goes to bed. This takes the hassle out of hunting around for an outfit when you’re still really half awake.

When Abbey works out early in the morning she doesn’t have time for a full on breakfast. For many people having a full on breakfast before a work out is not the best idea, all that food can actually slow you down. Abbey usually just grabs a piece of fruit. Her favorite early morning, pre-workout fruit is the Zespri Sungold Kiwis. There are only 100 calories in two of them, plenty of fiber, tons of antioxidants, and as much potassium as a banana. After her early morning fruit breakfast Abbey heads out to meet her trainer.

After a good work out Abbey finds herself pretty famished and of course she has already taken the time to make her breakfast beforehand and have it all ready to go when she gets back. Every single day in Abbey’s life is busy, planning her meals ahead of time is a real time saver. She opts for the Tropical Baked Oatmeal Cups she made last weekend. Since it wouldn’t really be fair to just show them to you she also takes the time to walk you through the recipe step by step.

To make these Easy Tropical Baked Oatmeal Cups you need to get a medium sized mixing bowl and combine oats, coconut, cashews, baking powder, ginger, and salt. These are your dry ingredients. In another smaller bowl mix together mashed banana, coconut milk, eggs, vanilla, coconut oil, diced Zespri Sungold Kiwi fruit, and pineapple. Now mix all your wet ingredients together well and then combine them with your dry ingredients. You will want to mix this all together of course. Just refer here for the full recipe:

Once mixed divide the batter evenly into a muffin pan filling each muffin tin to the top and then smoothing out the surface. Top each of those with a slice of Zespri Kiwi fruit. Bake them for 20-25 minutes or until you see a golden brown color form around the edges. Allow them to cool for at least 20 minutes before carefully removing them from the muffin pan. You can of course enjoy these immediately, but be honest with yourself, you aren’t going to eat them all right then and there. Save the rest in a freezer bag and freeze them until you’re ready to enjoy them for breakfast, or an afternoon snack, or during that late night Netflix binge you know you’re going to go on eventually.

Moving on with her day Abbey realizes it’s about time for coffee, she is working from home today and really needs to put a little spring in her step. She whips up a quick Latte opting for almond milk instead of half and half. After a quick change Abbey sits down and takes some time to mindfully enjoy each bite of her breakfast while she sips on her Latte. This is actually extremely important to do on many different levels. It not only helps with digestion it gives you time to really focus on what you want to do with your day.

After breakfast Abbey gets to work, but a few hours later finds herself in need of a snack. She goes for a bit of Chia Pudding topped with fresh strawberries. That brings us to noon, which means Abbey’s morning routine video is officially over.

Thank you for taking the time to tune in. If you have a morning routine you’d like to share please leave a comment below. Also, as always, feel free to ask questions or give suggestions. What would you like to see in Abbey’s next video?
