HOW TO MAKE NASI GORENG

An Indonesian fried rice that is easy to make and packed full of flavour!

Ingredients: (serves 4)

1 large chicken breast
250g of cooked prawns
5 tablespoons of brown sugar
5 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 cup of shredded asian cabbage
1/2 cup of thinly sliced carrot
1 onion
1 large clove of garlic
1 2-3 cm piece of ginger, finely sliced
5-6 cups of cooked basmati (long grain) rice – about 2 cups raw
2 tablespoons of chilli sauce
1 tablespoon of peanut oil
2 teaspoons of nasi goreng paste
1 egg per person
crushed peanuts, fried shallots (you can get these from the asian section of the supermarket .. they’re delicious!!!), green onion to top.
