How To Make Shortbread
Ingredients:
2 cups AP flour
½ tsp salt
¾ cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup butter, room temperature
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
In the bowl of a food processor, add the flour, salt, powdered sugar and pulse to combine. Add the vanilla and butter and process until a dough forms.
Put the dough onto a sheet of plastic wrap and press down into a square, about 6-8 inches. Wrap up the square and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Once the dough has chilled, slice into 1/3 inch rectangles and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake until the edges have just slightly turned light brown, about 12-14 minutes. Rotate the pans halfway through baking if you notice the shortbread cooking unevenly.
Cool the shortbread on the baking sheet for a few minutes to allow them to set and then transfer to a cooling rack.
