Pecan Pie Bars | Southern Pecan Pie Bars Recipe | Healthy Recipes
Intro
These pecan pie bars are just as rich and tasty as a real pecan pie. The only difference is the bars are much easier to eat on the go! Give these treats a try next time you’re hankering for a pecan pie but don’t want to go to the effort of making a pie crust.
Ingredients
• 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
• 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon Salt
• 2 cups All-purpose flour
• 4 Large eggs, beaten
• 1-1/3 cups Light brown sugar, firmly packed
• 1-1/2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
• 2 cups Pecans, toasted & broken into pieces
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, and salt at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamed.
Step 2
Gradually add the flour in two batches. Beating well after each addition to combine.
Step 3
Press into the bottom of a 13X9-inch baking dish. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
Step 4
Using a large bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar and vanilla until combined.
Step 5
Use a mixing spoon or rubber spatula to mix in pecans.
Step 6
Pour the pecan mixture over the baked crust.
Step 7
Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until topping is firmly set. Cool completely in the pan. Cut into squares and serve.
