Poitin or Potcheen is basically Irish moonshine, and is imported here to the States, but is somewhat restricted for sale in Ireland. The aroma: Amy Inferno said it smelled like puke; I thought it smelled like white vinegar. The taste: at least Everclear doesn’t have much. This stuff is a little foul, but not too much, IMO. Viewer Custer Hoff told us this would pretty much leave you trashed, and I could definitely see that happening if you were to obtain a bottle of this. I recommend it, but definitely not for everyone. More of a “get trashed” drink. Perhaps I’ll look for a proper drink recipe and we can see how it work in the context of a drink. Andrew was good enough to guest star in this episode, and we have one more set for later this week.
