Avengers Cake from Cookies Cupcakes and Cardio

Ingredients:
• Prepared buttercream in red, blue, white and black (see recipe here https://youtu.be/XaNELscDtms)
• Prepared 8″ round cake, covered in white buttercream (see recipe https://youtu.be/rjqOTM5icOE)
• Avengers Logo
• Avengers mini figurines (http://amzn.to/1GMtWqZ)

Procedure:
1. Using measuring tape, segment sides of cake into 1.5″ wide sections. Mark segments with straight lines using a ruler, or a square edge.
2. With the red buttercream fitted with a basket-weave tip, fill in alternating sections, so that every second section is filled with red. Flatten icing with a spatula if desired.
3. Using a 4″ round cutter, press a circle into the centre of the icing on the cake. Using a toothpick, draw a larger circle between the 4″ circle and the edge of the cake into the icing.
4. Add additional red icing from the red areas from the side of the cake, up to the closest line and fill in.
5. Using a small star shaped cutter (1″- 1.5″), and the outside line as a guide, press star shapes into the buttercream all the way around the cake, near the top of the red sections. Fill stars in using blue buttercream fitted with a small blue tip.
6. With the black buttercream, fill in the centre circle, and smooth flat using an offset spatula.
7. Place a cut out Avengers logo on top of the black circle, secure with small pins if needed. Trace the outline of the logo using a toothpick or scribe tool.
8. Using the white buttercream fitted with a small round tip, fill in the logo.
9. Add small Avengers figurines to complete cake (if desired).
10. This cake can be stored in a sealed container and is best consumed within 2-3 days.
