This was my first time making Tortillas. I do not have a press so they are not perfect circles. I had a great time making these.

I found numerous Tortilla recipes online using different types of Corn Masa Flour. I used Maseca Instant Corn Flour Masa. It is Gluten Free.
www.mimaseca.com or
http://www.mexgrocer.com/

I was only making 6 Tortillas
Instructions are on the Bag.

In a bowl mix:
1 ¼ Maseca Instant Corn Flour Masa
pinch of Salt
Add:
½ cup of warm water

Use more or less Flour/Water for the amount of Tortilla you will need.

Mix and knead by hand. If dough is dry add 1TBL of warm water at a time to form a ball. It will be the consistency of Play-Doh.

Divide into 6 Balls. Keep covered with a Moist paper towel.

I do not have a Tortilla Press so I rolled them by hand.

Take a Ziplock bag and cut off the Zipper and cut down both sides.
Place one of the dough balls between the Plastic bag.
Take a dinner plate and push on the covered dough to help flatten it.
Then use a rolling pin and roll out to a 6" Tortilla. Or make them to any size of your choice.
Keep remaining dough covered while your rolling out the dough.

I read that some people take a bowl and turn it upsides down on the dough and cut around it to make a perfect circle. I was making Tacos and it didn't matter to me if it was a perfect shaped circle.

If you roll out all the Tortilla before cooking them,, keep them covered with a damp paper towel.

Heat either a Griddle or Pan to medium heat.
Place a Tortilla on the pan and cook until lightly blistered and starts to puff. About 1 minute per side.

After it is cooked place between a towel to keep them warm. After this video I bought a Tortilla Warmer!

These tasted so much better than pre-made bought Tortillas. I will be making them from now on. They were so fresh and held together beautifully with the Taco filling.

I also read that some people rest the dough for 15-30 minutes and others don't rest it at all. I did not rest my dough. It tasted great to me. Next time I will rest the dough to see if I can tell the difference.
Since making this video I have tried resting the dough and I did not see any difference.

Enjoy!
