Today I’m showing you how to make the easiest red velvet cake ever! If you are on a budget, an inexperienced baker, or simply looking for a great recipe, you just scored bigtime. Here’s the recipe~
Cake
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk*
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 bottle (1 oz) red food color
2 eggs
*Buttermilk can be substituted with this recipe~ 1 tbs of lemon juice or vinegar to 1 cup of milk
Frosting
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cups confectioner’s sugar, sifted
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
6 ounces cream cheese
